Abstract
Bio: Dr. Hossein Salehi is Regional Adviser for Health Economics and Health Care Financing in the World Health Organization Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean. Dr. Salehi received his Ph.D. in economics from University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Salehi has focused on the application of economic theory and development of analytical tools such as National Health Accounts and Cost-effectiveness for development of health systems since he joined the World Health Organization in 2001. The development of social health protection scheme and health care financing options are high on his agenda in the World Health Organization Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean.
