Study on the efficiency of flow process under four-handed dentistry

Abstract

Study on the therapy efficiency of flow process under four-handed dentistry in Oral Medicine.

Methods We select caries, the common disease in oral medicine, decomposize the treatment process of caries patients and determine the standard time of each process with the motion study proposed by Frank B.Gilbreth. We determine the time of treating two caries patients simultaneously with flow process, compare the difference of efficiency and economic benefits between four-handed dentistry and flow process.

Results It needs 23.0 minutes to treat a cariy patient with four-handed dentistry. But we only need 34.5 minutes to treat two patients simultaneously with flow process, the efficiency with flow process is improved by 25.0% and the human cost is decreased by 24.9% than four-handed dentistry.

Conclusion Flow process under four-handed dentistry can significantly improve work efficiency and economic benefits in oral medicine.
